Rather than relying on a small repeating pattern, the composition is boldly pictorial, with individual flowers occupying substantial areas of the textile and overlapping one another to create the impression of a densely planted garden.

One of the most distinctive elements is the prominent tulip-like flower in the upper portion, rendered in warm antique gold and muted red. It rises among broad curling leaves and is accompanied by star-shaped blossoms and larger rounded flowers. The surrounding foliage moves freely through the composition, creating a layered and almost three-dimensional quality characteristic of richly decorative historic tapestry work.

The centuries-old palette is particularly sophisticated, combining antique gold, ochre, wheat, camel, beige, taupe, tobacco brown, muted burgundy, faded red, dusty rose, deep teal, blue-green, and dark brown.
