The Schwenkomat model was developed by the in-house SLZ team and remains one of the brand's most iconic designs – a design classic that impressively combines functionality with the clean, minimalist aesthetic of that era.

The lamp is in excellent condition: The chrome base and swivel arm are flawless and show no significant signs of wear, as does the acrylic glass shade, which is free of cracks and scratches. The lamp is fully functional, has three individually switchable bulbs, and is operated via the original pull switch.

The unique feature of this lamp lies in its ingenious swivel arm mechanism, which also gives it its name: Two joints allow the arm to be extended almost infinitely, and the large, hemispherical shade to be swiveled into nearly any desired position – ideal for directing the light precisely where it's needed, whether as a reading lamp or for indirect room lighting. The voluminous Plexiglas shade acts as both a diffuser and a reflector: It softly scatters the light downwards while simultaneously illuminating itself completely, creating a pleasant, glare-free lighting atmosphere. The solid, saucer-shaped base made of polished chrome provides the lamp with additional stability and, with its gleaming surface, underscores the clean, technically elegant aesthetic of the space-age design.
