Antique Royal Vienna-style porcelain portrait cabinet plate, circa 1900–1920, featuring a classical beauty crowned with purple lilacs and a richly embellished border with gold laurels.
Deep brown-burgundy border appears delightfully lighter or darker depending on lighting, giving dimension and interest unique to a cabinet plate, see photos for examples.
Blue shield mark and decorator’s number 239 to the reverse. Excellent condition with some age related wear and a small raised pin-spot in upper left of plate; please see photos as they are part of the description. Presents beautifully and ready for display in a cabinet, on a wall, on a bookshelf alongside other portraits, etc.
