The central artwork depicts the classic Chinese "Double Fu Lions Playing with a Ball" motif — two mythical guardian lions (foo dogs) with flowing silk ribbons and a brocade ball, a timeless symbol of protection, prosperity, harmony and good fortune.
Crafted from warm-toned zitan-style hardwood with prominent natural grain, the tray features an ornate wavy petal-shaped rim, carefully carved for a graceful lotus-flower silhouette. The multi-colored shell inlay brings vivid detail and iridescent texture to the lions, ball and ribbon patterns.
