A distinctive pair of vintage swivel office, desk, or dining chairs by Douglas Furniture, likely dating from the late 1960s–1970s. Both chairs retain the same original Douglas Furniture manufacturer and materials label, confirming that they are a matching pair.
Each chair features sculptural ivory faux-leather upholstery arranged in a gathered, envelope-inspired geometric pattern across the seat and backrest. The chairs are supported by white-finished tubular metal frames and five-star swivel bases accented with warm wood-grain-finished sections and brass-tone casters.
The attached labels identify Douglas Furniture as the importer, state that the chairs were made in Mexico, and document 100% polyurethane foam padding in both the seats and backrests. The manufacturer labels remain attached beneath both chairs and will be included in the photographs.
These versatile chairs can function as matching desk chairs, rolling dining chairs, vanity chairs, conference seating, or statement accent pieces. The ivory faux-leather upholstery displays overall aging, yellowing, discoloration, surface soiling, scattered marks, creasing, wrinkling, and variations in color. Certain areas show more discoloration and wear than others, particularly across the seats, backrests, and rear upholstery panels. No claim is made that the upholstery has been professionally cleaned or restored. The white-finished tubular metal frames exhibit scattered scratches, scuffs, marks, small finish losses, and general wear consistent with age and previous use. The wood-grain-finished base accents show surface wear, while the brass-tone casters display age-related wear and tarnishing. One chair is missing an end cap from an open tubular side bar near the seat. The exposed end is visible in the photographs and will require a suitable replacement cap or another appropriate repair or restoration. This issue is disclosed for full transparency. Both chairs retain matching Douglas Furniture labels underneath. The paper labels display age-related creasing, wear, and partial separation but remain readable.
