Antique functional salesman sample produced by S.F. Bowser & Company of Fort Wayne, Indiana, during the early 20th century. This detailed miniature industrial pump system features a removable dispensing can, drip pan, curved piping, hand-operated crank mechanism, graduated measuring components, and a riveted metal storage tank.
The removable can rests beneath the dispensing pipe, while the drip pan directs excess liquid into the tank below. Rows of exposed rivets accent the rectangular base and emphasize the sample's industrial construction.
The underside bears the S.F. Bowser maker's mark and identification plate. Its functional components, compact proportions, and detailed construction make this an appealing example of early American industrial design and salesmanship.
