This petite demilune-style accent chest features a flat back designed to sit completely flush against a wall, making it highly versatile for modern apartment living or compact spaces. The cabinet boasts a brilliant, high-gloss black lacquer finish adorned with meticulously hand-painted gilt gold and polychrome traditional landscapes. The central door panels feature classic "Daoist Paradise" and imperial pastime motifs, depicting elegant court figures, an imperial banner procession, a traditional landscape with a thatched pavilion, and a dynamic mounted warrior on horseback with trailing pheasant feathers. The top lid showcases a tranquil scene of a scholar fishing under a weeping willow tree.The single front door opens to a spacious, clean interior compartment providing excellent hidden storage. It retains its authentic, beautifully etched brass butterfly/cloud-shaped latch and drop-pin closure.
