The sculptural lamp is distinguished by its richly ornamented construction. A substantial circular black marble base supports elaborate foliate brass decoration, a polished dark marble sphere and a tall architectural brass stem with finely modeled classical and botanical detailing. Above sits an impressive domed opaline glass shade with a subtle pale pink-white marbled appearance. The glass is molded in pronounced floral and botanical relief, creating an especially decorative surface both when illuminated and when switched off. Once lit, the opaline glass diffuses the light into a warm and atmospheric glow. The combination of marble, polished brass and ornamental glass gives the lamp a luxurious presence characteristic of french decorative lighting from the early 20th century. The brass has been carefully repolished while preserving the lamp’s antique character. The electrical components have been renewed. Fitted with 1 × e27/e26 bulb socket and compatible with both european and us bulbs. A distinctive decorative light suitable for a console, side table, bedside table or as an atmospheric statement piece in an art nouveau, belle époque, art deco or eclectic interior.
