this painting was part of the 1993 group exhibition of the “kultur forum europa e. V.” at nörvenich castle near bonn (exhibit no. 4).

this still life was created during the artist's stay in hudson valley (new york) in 1992. Richild holt was invited there to participate in the first international art-omi workshop, an annual artists' workshop that has since become established. During this stay, she also experimented with artistic techniques, and this work was created in conjunction with a still life executed as a monotype.

richild holt (correctly: richild von holtzbrinck) is one of the most important figurative painters of our time.

from 1968 to 1969 she studied at the new school for social research (new york city) and from 1981 to 1985 at the stuttgart state academy of art and design.

richild holt lives and works in stuttgart.
