Original Pistillino wall lamp designed by Studio Tetrarch and manufactured by Valenti in Milan during the 1970s.
Named after the pistil of a flower, the design is formed by a dense radial arrangement of curved elements terminating in multicolored spherical tips. The chrome surfaces interact with the central light source, creating a highly sculptural combination of reflection, repetition and color characteristic of experimental Italian lighting of the period.
The original chrome finish shows widespread losses and signs of wear, revealing different colors of the underlying plastic in several areas. The resulting surface bears clear evidence of its age and use; please refer to the detailed photographs.
The original rear plate is marked Valenti Milano, Mod. Pistillino, Design Studio Tetrarch, Made in Italy and specifies the use of a silver dome bulb up to 40W.
