Impressive 19th-century Gothic Revival religious artwork depicting God the Father, after the upper central panel of the Ghent Altarpiece / Adoration of the Mystic Lamb by the Van Eyck brothers.
The image is presented in a richly decorated gilt architectural frame with slender columns, capitals and Gothic ornament, giving the piece a strong ecclesiastical and decorative character.
The reverse bears an old “Winsor & Newton – London” stencil, together with handwritten Latin inscriptions corresponding to the inscriptions associated with the throne of God the Father in the original Van Eyck composition:
Vita sine morte in capite
Iuventus sine senectute in fronte
Gaudium sine moerore a dextris
Securitas sine timore a sinistris
The image appears to be an early printed or chromolithographic reproduction, likely dating from circa 1860–1880.

Condition
Authentic antique condition with age-related wear. The gilt frame shows small losses, chips, cracks and areas of wear to the gilding, all visible in the photographs.
