Originally produced by Ercol as a low sideboard, this example has undergone a comprehensive restoration. The original castors have been removed and replaced with new solid beech tapered legs, raising the cabinet to a more conventional sideboard height while remaining sympathetic to the clean lines and warm natural timber of the original design.

The sideboard provides excellent storage through two spacious cupboards and three central drawers. The cupboards contain adjustable shelving, allowing the interior to be configured for tableware, glassware, books or general household storage.

The upper central drawer retains its original removable divided cutlery tray, a particularly useful original feature that is often missing from surviving examples.

The elm has been extensively restored to revive its rich colour and distinctive flowing grain. The badly damaged handles on the bottom drawer have also been replaced, while original features have been retained wherever practical.

The result is an exceptionally well-presented Ercol sideboard that retains the quality and character of the original 1970s design while being ready for many further years of use. This piece has an attribution mark,
