A compact piece of mid-century Italian art glass, it combines rich color with clear glass and a dense pattern of controlled bubbles. The circular bowl centers on a pool of deep green glass, submerged within a substantial body of clear glass using the Murano sommerso technique. The color shifts from almost black-green at its deepest point to brighter olive and emerald tones where it meets the transparent surround. Rows of controlled bullicante bubbles travel through the thick glass, creating a decorative pattern that changes considerably according to the viewing angle. from above, the bubbles form concentric arrangements around the green center; viewed from the side, they appear suspended at different depths within the glass. The smooth, rounded exterior contrasts with the intricate internal decoration. Its small proportions and low bowl form make it particularly suited to display on a coffee table, side table, desk, shelf, or grouped with other vintage Murano glass. The substantial thickness of the glass gives the piece a distinctly sculptural quality despite its compact size.

By Galliano Ferro, the bowl reflects the combination of color, transparency and technically controlled decoration associated with postwar Murano glassmaking. The underside is finished with a flat polished base. Very good vintage condition with no chips or damage. Some minor surface wear is present to the polished base, consistent with age and use.
