The circular top has a softly rounded edge and rests on a square tapering column that stands on a stepped, moulded plinth: the sober, architectural vocabulary of the period, with no ornament at all. The ash is blond and open-grained and the whole piece has been treated and renovated in our workshop. The top keeps a scattering of small old flight holes from a long-dormant infestation, visible in the photographs; they have been treated and give the wood much of its character. It seats four comfortably and works as a kitchen table, a breakfast table or a card table. It measures 104 cm in diameter and 78 cm high, with 68 cm of clearance under the top. See less
