Nora Fenton Designs traces its roots to 1937, when Nora Fenton, started a small business to help support her family. Initially, she worked as a manufacturer’s representative in the home furnishings industry, later in 1957, moving into overseas sourcing and eventually launching a full-line lighting importer — a significant step for a woman in a male-dominated field at the time. Her command of color and design sense brought a significant and much needed change, that brought her love of color to fruition. By the mid-1990s, Nora Fenton had evolved into a full-line manufacturer and importer of lamps and home décor items, with a global sourcing network and a reputation for quality and design In 1995, Nora retired from day-to-day operations. This wonderful, rare lamp is a prime example of Nora's fantastic creativity. An all white glaze allows one to concentrate on the images she created. A lovely sunflower commands the piece, while a budding flower sits beneath. Leaves create a barrier that directs the light, while the base is covered with flora. This piece is not only a lamp, it is a piece of sculpture. It is in wonderful vintage condition, no chips, cracks or crazing. The light is in good working condition, and does not need the cord to be changed out. It even has its original tag still attached. I have spent considerate time researching for another of this lamp, but was unable to find one. A very rare and lovely lamp indeed. Measure 19.25" at tallest (flower stem) x 9.50" at widest x 8" deep at base. From other similar style lamps from her, I would date this lamp from the 1960s-70s. Substantial weight. See less
