Elegant and highly decorative arc/curved floor lamp attributed to IWO, Sweden, dating from the 1930s.
The lamp has a striking sweeping silhouette, with a long curved stem wrapped in white-painted cord. The stem rises from a circular wooden base, topped with a pale glass plate that gives the lamp a refined and unusual appearance. The glass is glossy on one side and frosted on the other, and shows some chips consistent with its age.
At the top, the lamp is fitted with a large pleated fabric shade featuring a delicate floral pattern. The shade measures approximately 51 cm in diameter and remains in good condition. Its generous proportions complement the elegant curve of the stand and create a soft, atmospheric light.
The electrical wiring has been renewed, making the lamp suitable for continued use while preserving its original vintage character.
A distinctive example of 1930s Swedish lighting design, combining an expressive curved form with textile, wood, glass and brass details. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
