Not unlike companies of today, it was common to receive free promotional items with purchases of goods. While today that likely equates to a QR code, throughout most of the 20th century, those items were tangible and included items people would use in their day-to-day life such as cookware, utensils, or pot scrapers that were used to clean pots and pans, and in some cases were shaped to include rolling pins and cups.

These pieces advertise various businesses from the early part of the last century including Henkel's Flour, Better Butter from Fairmont Creamery Co., Nesco enamelware, and Admiral Coffee. The Dutch Boy Painter match holder is also included. The scrapers are matted on a black felt backdrop and set in an ornate gold-tone frame. See less
