Quarter-sawn oak flat file cabinet constructed for the organized storage of maps, blueprints, engineering drawings, prints, and other oversized documents. The cabinet features seven wide graduated drawers fitted with integral wooden pulls and brass key escutcheons, along with a full-height side compartment concealed behind a paneled door. An additional small drawer is incorporated within the side compartment, providing storage for drafting instruments or related accessories. The substantial plank top offered a convenient work surface for reviewing plans or preparing documents, making cabinets of this type common fixtures in architect's offices, engineering firms, print shops, and industrial drafting rooms.
