A fantastic, highly collectible antique early 20th century American primitive two tone stoneware utility crock. Manufactured by the renowned Burley and Winter Pottery Company of Crooksville, Ohio (circa 1900 to 1910), this heavy duty jar features their iconic cobalt blue heart brand stamp with a crisp number six inside, denoting its generous 6 gallon capacity.
The vessel showcases, a beautiful, classic contrast between the Rich, dark chocolate, Brown Albany, slip style glazed, top room and the rustic, heavily textured cream, colored salt, glazed lower body. This is an authentic piece of early American history that presents beautifully as a standalone farmhouse, floor accent, rustic porch, planter, fireplace, log holder, or Unique entryway umbrella stand.

It’s showcase is beautiful, authentic age-appropriate wear that highlights it’s primitive charm. Surface: there is some light, superficial scratching on the body, consistent with decades of utilitarian use, which does not affect the integrity of the clay or the clarity of the cobalt heart logo. Base: there is a minor chip located along the bottom rim base edge. It is stable, does not compromise the balance of the vessel, and is largely hidden from view when the piece is sitting upright. less
