Coin-operated children's amusement ride featuring a dramatically posed galloping horse mounted above a substantial rounded metal platform. The cast-metal horse is finished in vivid red with a flowing white mane and tail, black bridle and saddle, and silver-painted ornamental tack. Molded details include an expressive open mouth, flared nostrils, raised legs, decorative saddle scrollwork, and a pair of substantial metal stirrups. A T-shaped grip rises behind the saddle, while the side-mounted locking coin box retains remnants of its painted 5¢ denomination. The horse is supported by a mechanical pedestal assembly set into the red-painted base, which includes a textured step plate and leveling feet.
Founded in St. Louis in 1968 and later relocated to Eldon, Missouri, Carousel International Corporation became a major American manufacturer of coin-operated kiddie rides, producing approximately 75,000 rides during its nearly four decades in business.

Concentrated finish loss is visible around the muzzle, saddle, mane, tack, coin box, platform edges, and other projecting surfaces. The saddle surround exhibits cracking and chipped paint, while the mane and body display scattered impact marks and abrasions. Coin box graphics are heavily worn but the 5¢ marking remains partially legible. The base has widespread surface wear, oxidation along its lower edges and feet, and scattered paint loss. Electrical cord is present. Mechanical and coin-operated functions have not been tested. less
