The sculptures are entirely handmade and assembled from chrome-plated bronze sheet, individually cut, shaped, and handcrafted.
The profiles feature a geometric composition, with the facial features — eyes, eyebrows, and mouths — applied to the bronze sheet.
The hair is formed by groups of cylindrical chrome-plated bronze tubes, separately made and assembled, and subsequently secured with screws to the bronze sheet of each profile.
The female figure is further decorated with a necklace composed of two rows of small applied metal spheres.
The handcrafted construction is clearly visible on both the front and reverse of each sculpture, where the joints, soldering, screws, fittings, and structural supports used in their construction can be seen.
Each figure rests on a rectangular chrome-plated bronze sheet base and has a vertical support at the reverse connecting the body of the sculpture to the base.
MARKS
Both sculptures bear the marks “Handmade,” the WHW monogram within a circle, “Made in Austria,” and “Hagenauer Wien” underneath their bases, as clearly shown in the detailed photographs.
ATTRIBUTION / AUTHENTICITY
The design and construction of this pair closely correspond to documented male and female profile models associated with Franz Hagenauer and the Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien, dating from the 1970s.
However, these pieces are not accompanied by original documentation or provenance that guarantees their authenticity.
Prospective buyers are encouraged to carefully examine the detailed photographs of the sculptures, their construction and their marks, and to make their own assessment.

Condition:

Good overall condition consistent with age and use.
The chrome-plated surfaces show areas of discoloration, dullness, surface oxidation, minor scratches, and wear, as shown in detail in the photographs.
On one of the sculptures, one of the rear structural supports shows a partial separation of the solder joint at one end. This does not affect the stability of the sculpture.
