The Hombre series … Read more Exceptional pair of “Hombre” lounge chairs, designed by Burkhard Vogtherr for Rosenthal in Germany during the 1970s. The Hombre series is one of Vogtherr’s most distinctive designs for the Rosenthal furniture program, which Rosenthal introduced in the early 1970s. The design is defined by its strong architectural construction, generous proportions and characteristic continuous wooden frames with beautifully rounded corners. This pair retains its original leather upholstery, displaying a beautiful naturally developed patina with subtle tonal variations, creasing and traces of use. The soft, muted leather contrasts elegantly with the warm patinated wooden frames, giving the chairs a sophisticated and highly authentic vintage appearance. The substantial seat cushions, reclining backrests and distinctive padded headrests provide excellent comfort, while the sculptural frames give the chairs a powerful presence from every angle. Particularly attractive when positioned freely within a room, as the construction and upholstered backs are equally expressive when viewed from behind.
