It has a polished square Onyx stone top with beautiful earth tone neutral colors and cream, gold, and brown banding. The brass frame has sweeping cabriole legs with decorative floral flourishes and a lower stylized cast iron accent tier/cross brace typical of Victorian period metalwork. Tiered pedestals were highly popular during the late 1800s for showcasing ferns and exotic potted plants in Victorian parlor rooms. It is in good antique condition with normal wear and tear consistent with the age and function of this piece. See less

- The stand has cast brass legs and a cast iron second tier. The brass needs polishing. No pieces appear to … moreThe stand has cast brass legs and a cast iron second tier. The brass needs polishing. No pieces appear to be missing and the stand is strong, story and fully functional. The onyx top is very heavy and possesses the translucent properties of this stone. It sits on the stand with notched holes on its underside only. There is one microscopic chip you can feel with your finger tip when running it along one top edge of the onyx but which is unnoticeable/invisible by eye for display purposes. Overall fantastic condition for its age. less
