Carved trefoil cutouts punctuate both the backrest and seat, while the shaped edges and wonderfully irregular construction give the piece unmistakable folk-art character.

The warm, dark brown finish has developed a rich, timeworn patina, with visible grain, knots, surface marks and variations throughout.
