Crafted from richly figured quarter-sawn oak, … Read more An exceptionally complete antique hall mirror dating to the early 20th century, circa 1900–1915. Crafted from richly figured quarter-sawn oak, this wall-mounted hall rack features sculptural scrollwork, a hand-carved floral crest, its original beveled mirror plate, and four substantial cast-brass multi-prong hat and coat hooks.

The oak retains a warm, well-developed finish that beautifully highlights the distinctive medullary-ray figuring associated with quarter-sawn timber. Its curving profile, shield-like lower corners, applied scrollwork, and stylized central crest reflect the transition between late Victorian, Arts and Crafts, and early Art Nouveau design.

The original beveled mirror remains intact without cracks or chips and exhibits the character expected of antique glass, including areas of foxing, haze, fine surface scratches, and silvering variation. All four solid-brass hooks are present and intact, retaining their naturally aged patina, oxidation, and surface variation.

Unlike many surviving hall mirrors that have lost their original glass, hooks, or carved ornament, this example remains remarkably complete. Both functional and decorative, it would make a handsome addition to an entryway, foyer, mudroom, dressing room, or hallway in an English Country, Tudor, Craftsman, Colonial Revival, or traditional interior.
