Auspicious Mythical Beast: The upper portion of the lid features a vibrant, multi-colored shell inlay of a mythical beast (likely a Qilin or dragon) surrounded by stylized blue clouds and a red gemstone (representing a pearl or sun). The creature is a classic symbol of good fortune, protection, and prosperity.
Historical Calligraphy: The lower portion features inlaid characters reading "圆明园藏" (Yuánmíngyuán Cáng), which translates to "Collection of the Old Summer Palace" (Yuanmingyuan).
