Originating from the historic La Amalia estate in the Antioquia region of Colombia, this shelf is hand-bench-made using native Guadua bamboo—a species globally renowned for its exceptional density, durability, and rich natural patination. The design beautifully pairs robust, thick-walled support poles with a densely arranged backing of slender vertical reed spindles.
The structural layout offers wonderful versatility, featuring a shallow top gallery ledge and a deeper, 11-inch lower display tier elegantly braced by sweeping bent-bamboo support brackets. Originally conceived in the traditional hacienda style for displaying decorative plates, its generous lower depth makes it highly functional for modern spaces—perfect for holding rolled linens in a bathroom, displaying spices and cookbooks in a kitchen, or showcasing potted plants and books in a living space.
