This oil on board painting dates to the 18th century and is of Italian origin.
The unknown artist copied this image from Raphael's (Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino 1483-1520) self portrait. The detailing is quite remarkable.
The painting comes in an intricate (later) Florentine gilt wood frame dating to the early to mid 19th century.
There's a retailer mark on the reverse for when it was sold in Italy by an art and antique dealer and framer sometime during the early to mid 19th century.
The framed piece measures about 11.5 x 17 inches
