It is a vintage line of fine Staffordshire ceramic transferware made in England from the 1940s to the 1980s -- this plate is marked 1982.

It's a very pretty plate, with its swirl-fluted rim decorated with an oak leaf and acorn border. The pattern features a hand-engraved traditional English country scene of horses and riders gathering in front of a country manor house either before or after a fox hunt. There are two dogs in the foreground.

I have been collecting blue & white plates for 20+ years, most of them coming from a source in Europe
(back when the postage was still affordable). I'm very picky about condition and quality, and he never disappointed.

Somewhere along the way, I decided to use only plates and platters with horses, so the others I had
been collecting are no longer needed. I'm offering those 20+ plates and platters for sale -- be sure to
look at my other listings if you're a blue & white fan, as I am. This plate (with horses) is a duplicate of one i already had, so it is included in my dispersal. See less
