A bold statement painting on canvas by Argentinian artist Florencia Troisi, signed lower right. “A Couple in Love” depicts two embracing figures crowned with lush foliage, blossoms, and playful birds, rising from a bank of vivid red roses against a dotted blue ground.
Troisi’s work blends folk art, naïve art, and pop surrealism into a style that is at once whimsical and provocative. The rich palette and intricate detail reward close viewing while the scale -- it is 44" square -- makes it a focal point for a living room, entryway, or bedroom wall.
Provenance: From the collection of a notable NYC patron of South American art, who purchased it around 2010. It was framed and sold by Amsterdam Gallery in New York City. The fifth image is from when it hung in the previous owner’s collection.
