The figure is carved as a single sculptural composition standing on an integral wood base, with dramatically elongated ridged horns, slender legs, expressive facial features and carved textural detailing throughout.

A deep brown-to-ebonized finish contrasts beautifully with areas of naturally exposed warm wood, particularly along the base, legs and raised carved surfaces. The variation gives the piece wonderful depth and emphasizes the hand-worked character of the carving. The integral base incorporates carved ground or foliage details beneath the animal’s feet.

At just over 25 inches tall, this is a substantial decorative sculpture with enough scale to stand alone on a console, chest, pedestal or large bookshelf. Particularly handsome in a layered traditional, eclectic or global interior.
