The design is distinguished by its beautifully flowing continuous bentwood armrests, which sweep around the upholstered body in a graceful architectural curve. This characteristic construction gives the chairs their unmistakable sculptural profile and represents the innovative bentwood tradition for which Czech modernist furniture became internationally celebrated. This particular pair features a warm, honey-toned bentwood finish, creating an attractive contrast with the upholstered seats and backrests. The low stance, gently inclined backs and tapered wooden legs give the chairs a relaxed yet sophisticated presence. The chairs retain an older floral textile upholstery in soft cream, green and muted red tones. While charming in its present vintage state, the pair would also be an excellent candidate for reupholstery in a luxurious bouclé, wool, mohair or sheepskin, allowing the new owner to adapt the chairs to a contemporary interior while preserving their important sculptural wooden elements.
