Model possibly … Read more Elegant double salt cellar or table condiment dish made by wolfers frères in brussels, probably around the 1950s. Model possibly designed by marcel wolfers (or charles geets\.). In a neoclassical yet modernist style, the 925/1000 silver vermeil (gilded with fine gold) mount houses two polished green hardstone cups (aventurine), joined around a twisted central stem ending in a large matching sphere. The small ball feet and the fineness of the frame give the whole piece a particularly refined character. The piece bears the wolfers frères hallmark with a boar's head above the letter w, as well as the fineness a925, corresponding to sterling silver. Good condition. Dimensions: 6.5 x 10 x 5.5 cm a fine example of post-war belgian goldsmithing, combining precious metal and hard stone in a spirit that is both luxurious and modernist.
