Nason & cie, executed in substantial layers of smoked gray and clear glass. The compact square vessel has a strongly architectural exterior, its straight sides and defined corners enclosing a softly curved, deeply recessed bowl. A rich smoked gray layer forms the interior and is submerged within thick translucent glass, giving the piece considerable visual depth and creating different tonal effects according to the viewing angle. Each surface has been carefully faceted and polished, allowing the clear outer glass to act almost as a lens around the darker central form. The contrast between geometric exterior planes and the rounded internal cavity gives this small murano bowl a particularly sculptural presence. Handcrafted in murano, italy, the bowl retains its original v. Nason & cie murano italy label to the exterior. Very good vintage condition. No chips or damage, with all edges and corners intact. Minor surface wear is present to the polished base. Dimensions: w 9.5 cm / 3.74 in × d 9.5 cm / 3.74 in × h 7 cm / 2.76 in. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
