Atmospheric vintage landscape painting on stretched canvas, signed “M. Dykes” at lower right.

Rendered in a restrained palette of sepia, umber, black, cream and white, the composition depicts a solitary windswept evergreen rising from a wooded shoreline with calm water, distant mountains and a hazy setting or rising sun beyond.

The artist's loose, textural technique gives the landscape a wonderfully quiet and moody quality. The neutral coloration makes it particularly versatile for rustic, organic modern, lodge, cabin and collected traditional interiors.

The original canvas is stretched over a wood stretcher and presented in a warm dark wood-grain frame accented by a slender gold-tone inner molding.
