Framed Oil on Board | Circa 1900 | Artist Unknown
A delicate coastal oil painting, c. 1900, depicting sailboats gliding across a tranquil harbor at dusk. Rendered in soft, atmospheric tones of blue and amber, the composition captures the quiet haze of evening light with an impressionistic touch. The scene is set within an ornate gilt frame, richly carved with scrolling foliate motifs that enhance its elegance.

The gilded wood gesso frame shows an aged patina consistent with its historical character. The frame’s structure is intact and displays intricate floral scrollwork detailing, though it exhibits light surface wear. The artwork itself is structurally sound and securely mounted. The painted surface displays minor craquelure and subtle fading all of which lend an authentic antique charm to the piece without compromising the integrity of the scene. less
