Antique original etching by German artist Paul Geissler, circa 1920, depicting the monumental Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom), Germany.
Finely detailed architectural work capturing the cathedral’s soaring twin Gothic spires and elaborate west facade. Pencil signed by Paul Geissler and also signed within the plate. The handwritten German inscription beneath the image identifies the subject as “Cologne Cathedral on the Rhine.” The reverse bears additional handwritten notation, including “Opus 280,” referring to the work as No. 280.
Presented without a mat so the original plate impression and embossed edge of the etching remain visible. Framed in a classic gilt frame under non-reflective glass.
