Danish set of six dining chairs in solid oak with leather upholstery, designed by Mikael Laursen, 1970s. Curved backrest and straight, square-section legs joined by stretchers on all sides.
The frame is constructed in solid oak with a gently arched top rail, bent to form a continuous curved backrest. Legs are straight and square in section, joined front, back and sides by turned stretcher rails set low to the floor. Seats are upholstered in tan leather, drop-fit within the frame with visible corner joinery at each leg. Grain runs consistently across the curved back panels, with a light, even honey tone throughout.
The curved backrest and spare, rectilinear leg structure are characteristic of Danish Modern chair production of the 1970s, with the rounded top rail softening an otherwise architectural frame. Compact footprint with a light, stackable profile. A well-matched set of six, sold together.
