Original German panoramic etching titled Altmarkt (“Old Market”) by Richard Bloos (1878–1957), a Düsseldorf School artist. This lively old-town marketplace and street scene features period pedestrians, shopfronts, figures in conversation, a gentleman with a cane, and a small dog in the foreground.
Hand-titled in pencil at lower left and hand-signed in pencil at lower right; the artist’s signature also appears within the plate. Family provenance indicates the work was acquired in Germany in 1930 and retained in the same family until recently sourced from a private estate.
