His exaggerated expression and surreal presence become a way of thinking about the space between what is real and what is imagined. The repeated marks in the background create a sense of movement and tension, while the distorted face pushes the figure beyond a straightforward portrait.

This is the second time I have painted Dalí. Returning to the same subject allows the image to shift with me, becoming less about documenting the person and more about what remains in the mind after encountering his work.
