This lamp pairs … Read more A made-to-order ceramic table lamp by Audrey White McCumber of Red Bear Ceramics. Handcrafted in Ruston, La. This lamp pairs a softly faceted, architectural ceramic base with a luminous pale celadon glaze and warm brass-toned hardware.

The silhouette draws from vintage European decorative arts, with subtle suggestions of Jugendstil in its vertical movement, rhythmic relief work, and sculptural balance. Raised faceted panels travel from the flared foot through the rounded body and into the gently gathered neck, giving the lamp a distinct presence from every angle. Fine horizontal banding and a softly scalloped foot lend the form a feeling of age, restraint, and collected permanence.

McCumber’s work explores contemporary refinements of historic forms—creating objects that feel at home in European traditional, English-inspired, and layered interiors while remaining distinctly current. Her work is named in honor of her great-grandmother, Audrey White: a self-assured woman who was a breadwinner in the 1940s and successfully fought city hall. White’s independence, confidence, and femininity continue to inform the artist’s practice.

Each lamp, called the Manor Stem is individually made, glazed, and assembled by hand. The photographed lamp represents the intended form and glaze family; natural variation in glaze movement, surface, and handmade detail is inherent to the work and ensures that no two examples are exactly alike.

Includes brass-toned hardware and is fitted with a standard E26 socket. The shade shown is for styling and scale reference only and is not included.
