Its softly faceted ceramic body, vertical relief detailing, and pale celadon glaze create an object that feels both collected and current—equally at home in European traditional, English-inspired, and quietly layered interiors.

The silhouette takes subtle inspiration from Jugendstil and early European decorative arts without reproducing any historical form directly. Faceted panels rise through the rounded body toward a gently gathered neck, while fine horizontal banding and a softly shaped foot give the piece a sense of structure, permanence, and restrained ornament.

McCumber’s work explores confidence and femininity through objects that are elegant, grounded, and quietly self-possessed. The artist is named after her great-grandmother, Audrey White, a woman who lived outside the assumptions of her era: a 1940s breadwinner who fought city hall and won. That inheritance of independence and personal conviction informs the work’s combination of strength, softness, and historical curiosity.

Each lamp is individually made, glazed, and assembled by hand in the artist’s Louisiana studio. The photographed example represents the intended form and glaze family; subtle variation in glaze movement, surface, and hand-formed detail is inherent to the process and ensures that each finished lamp is distinct.
