The grand pair … Read more A gorgeous pair of sculptural bleached rattan organic modern cathedral sofas made by McGuire, San Francisco, CA. The grand pair is comprised of a 7' foot wide three-seat sofa and a 9' foot wide four-seat sofa. Each matching sofa features rattan pole construction with open gallery backs and sides. The long frames have distinctive crossed repeating cathedral curved arches, and long straight rattan pole aprons. Each sofa sits atop splayed rattan legs with curved arch supports. The rattan is bleached or glazed to a soft cream-toned lightly cerused finish. The pair is constructed with lashed rawhide leather joinery in a light cream tone complimentary to the rattan. The two sofas are completed with fitted loose seat and back cushions with an elegant floral acanthus patterning having a cream and pale gold damask fabric. The fabric while being vintage still shows well given age, use, and light color. The set comes from a dry non-humid, mold free California climate. The pair is crafted with an airy and distinct profile in a blend of Organic Modern, Coastal, and Palm Beach Tropical styles, well-suited for use in a variety of spaces.
