Made in Scandinavia in the 1930s, this Art Deco chest of drawers is distinguished by the marked contrast between light and dark surfaces. The three large birch fronts, with clearly visible grain and knots, stand out against the dark-stained wood frame, a tone also echoed in the horizontal bands, the shaped handles, and the raised base. The slightly rounded corners soften the compact geometry of the piece, while the six symmetrically arranged handles and the original locks lend regularity to the façade. The alternating woods and the simplicity of the forms create a sober and particularly recognizable interpretation of the Scandinavian Art Deco taste of the period. Good condition.
