Painter, graphic artist

At the age of 12, he decided to become a painter.

1956-57 Attended the Heinrich Zernack School (Berlin).
At 16, committed to a psychiatric hospital.

1959-60 Attended the Master School for Arts and Crafts (Berlin).
from 1960 onward, worked as a freelance artist.

Diekmann belonged to the Kreuzberg artistic circles and caused quite a stir in the West Berlin art scene in the early 1960s.

His final years were marked by alcohol and drug abuse. He began experimenting with psychedelic art.
