elegant polychrome glazed hard-paste porcelain vase made by bing & grøndahl of copenhagen, signed under the base, model 8552/243, historic production dating from 1915 to 1947. Note the vase's beautiful, harmonious shape, enhanced by an underglaze decoration with a 360-degree marine scene depicting a sailing ship against a coastal landscape with a sky and blurred clouds. The pictorial rendering is particularly refined, with overlapping tones and nuances resembling watercolors, typical of the finest b&g productions. Under the base is the historic mark with the three green towers and the initials b&g in blue, used between 1915 and 1947. This mark is essential for dating and distinguishing this piece from later reissues. It also features a sticker indicating the gallery that previously offered the item for sale.

the bing & grøndahl factory, founded in copenhagen in 1853 by the sculptor frederik vilhelm grøndahl and the bing brothers, is one of the most important names in the history of danish artistic porcelain. Renowned for its underglaze decoration technique, bing & grøndahl brought porcelain painting to the highest levels, with soft tones and great chromatic depth. The factory used the symbol of copenhagen's three towers as its distinctive trademark, modifying its details over time, allowing for a fairly precise dating of the pieces today. Throughout its long history, the factory collaborated with numerous danish artists and modelers, making a decisive contribution to the development of applied arts in scandinavia.
