The architectural frame is richly decorated with tessellated iridescent shell inlay in shades of pale pink, cream, silver and black, contrasted by a dark wood or ebonized inner frame. Elaborate antiqued brass mounts include twisted-rope borders, floral rosettes, foliate elements and an ornate crest, giving the piece a dramatic Regency-inspired appearance.

The upper frame rises into a distinctive arched and pointed silhouette, while decorative brass elements extend across the mirror face, adding depth and sculptural presence.

A particularly decorative example of Maitland-Smith’s signature use of exotic shell and cast metalwork. Ideal as an entryway, powder room, bedroom or statement wall mirror.
