In Poland the form is known as "kula z falbanką" - the globe with a frill.

The wall is built in layers: an opaque white opaline core carries a salmon-pink overlay, and the whole is cased in clear glass. The globe body is drawn in to a short neck, which then opens into a wide rim folded into deep lobes and finished with a heavy lip of colourless crystal. Held against the light the pink is not flat - it breaks into streaks of coral, orange and red where the colour layer thinned as the bubble was blown, and the underside shows a wide clear foot with the colour stopping short of it. Each piece was shaped by hand, so no two frills fold alike.

The model is recorded in the monograph "W pogoni za kolorem. Szkła Jerzego Słuczan-Orkusza" by Barbara Banaś and Aleksandra Skorek, published by the National Museum in Wrocław in 2019.

Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz (1924-2002) took his diploma in ceramics and glass at the Wrocław academy in 1953 and was chief designer at Tarnowiec from 1982 to 1991. His glass is held by the National Museums in Kraków, Warsaw and Wrocław. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
