This stylish piece was designed by Raul … Read more Stunning “Cribbio” umbrella stand in a special edition in black and yellow color. This stylish piece was designed by Raul Barbieri and Giorgio Marianelli for Rexite and produced in Italy during the 1980s. The piece is marked on the top and bottom. Fully original and in very amazing conditions, it features a cylindrical black lacquered perforated metal body, enriched by a contrasting yellow rim and a sculptural central black handle. The bold design strongly recalls the playful and radical language of the Italian Postmodern school of the period, particularly the work of Ettore Sottsass, under whom Barbieri and Marianelli studied before establishing their own studio. A playful and highly functional example of Italian design, perfect for holding umbrellas and walking sticks while adding a bold decorative touch to an entrance hall or contemporary interior.
