antartidee is an italian design brand founded in 1986 by artists roberto ferioli and mauro montermini in reggio emilia. It is known for handcrafted and hand-painted home accessories with a surreal and ironic style, such as wall clocks, coat hooks, sculptures, and picture frames (100% made in italy).

i gave it the name "frankenstein's foot" because of its bizarre appearance.

rené magritte's most famous work featuring feet is the painting *the red model* (*le modèle rouge*) from 1935; it depicts a pair of boots that seamlessly transition into bare human toes. The motif and its meaning – the concept: leather boots merge into real human feet at the bottom. The shoe thus becomes the foot itself. The shock effect: magritte combined everyday objects in a way that made them appear alien and uncanny. The image blurs the boundary between the living body and the inanimate object. Multiple versions: between 1935 and the 1940s, magritte painted several very similar variations of this motif, including versions showing sand and a wooden wall in the background.
